We did it! Thank you!

December 04, 2017

From all of us here at Rutgers School of Social Work, we want to say thank you for your participation and gift to our first Students Supporting Students crowdfunding initiative and for making it such a huge success!

Your generosity and support helped us become the first successful participation-based crowdfunding at Rutgers University and raise a total of $2,681 in MSW scholarship funds. Thank you again and know your participation is highly valued as it provides needed support for current MSW students by alleviating the financial pressures of graduate school, and allowing our students to further dedicate themselves towards advancing social justice.

We are proud to have you as part of our community and for giving the gift of change!

Respectfully, Your 2017-18 Project Owners

Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.

November 28, 2017

THANK YOU, Supporters! With your participation we have raised enough money to support 1-full Students Supporting Students scholarship. We appreciate your efforts, are proud you can share in this achievement, and hope you share this exciting news with others!

Today, 11.28.17 is Giving Tuesday. While Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two days for getting deals, Giving Tuesday is a day for giving back. This international giving movement always takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a reminder that there is more to the season than material things.

We encourage you to spread the word about our Students Supporting Students campaign so we can reach our goal of another 40 or so supporters by the end of the week--our campaign is not about the amount of money we can raise, but the volume of support we can spark around the issue of student debt.

Lastly, we would like to share the story of another Students Supporting Students scholarship recipient, Constantia Burt Dixon '18. Constantia is a second-year MSW student, mother of three, and has dreams of her future career.

We're half way there!

November 17, 2017

Hey Supporters!

We are a little more than half way through our campaign. We have reached 57% of our participation goal and we are almost at a full scholarship for an MSW student!

Our goal is to reach our 100% participation goal - we are looking for 43 new supporters with a donation of  $1!

Will you help us reach our goals?

Keep spreading the word and thank you again for your support for this amazing scholarship opportunity.

Anwaar takes over #RUMyView

November 10, 2017

MSW Class of 2018 and project owner for our Students Supporting Students crowdfunding site, Anwaar Zaher Najmi, will be featured on the Rutgers University Instagram today. She will share her day-in-the-life as she visits some of her favorite spots on campus, attends programs, and gives a most-important shout-out to our Students Supporting Students campaign.

Check out @rutgersu (Rutgers University) on Instagram to follow along and be sure to double-tap her posts to help bring more exposure to our campaign.

And, to make this Friday even sweeter, we want to say THANK YOU to those who have already donated because we have raised over $1,000.00, or half of one full scholarship. Together, lets build the momentum we need to reach our participant goal and raise (at least) 1 full scholarship!

Launch week is going well! Can we reach 40% by the end of the week?

November 06, 2017

Hey Supporters!

We are almost approaching a week into our crowdfunding campaign and are so excited to announce that we have reached 27% of our goal! At this pace, we'll not only reach our goal by the end of the month, but make this one of our most successful Students Supporting Students campaigns to date.

Click here to read a story about Jennifer Pugliese, a 2015 scholarship recipient, third-year student, mother of three, and part-time real estate agent . Learn about her experience in the program and how Students Supporting Students has made an impact on her MSW journey.

Keep spreading the word!

And we're off!

November 02, 2017

Thank you to our first-day supporters for helping us to reach 14% of our goal in under 24 hours!

We are happy to announce the successful launch of our 2017-18 Students Supporting Students crowdfunding campaign! Be sure to check out our video to learn more about our cause and understand the impact your participation. Remember, every dollar raised goes directly to student scholarships.

We will not reach 100 supporters without your help so please keep sharing Students Supporting Students on social media or via email-- together, we are a community of student support.

Stop by our crowdfunding site tomorrow to read a Q&A with Jennifer Pugliese, a 2015 scholarship recipient, and learn about what she's doing and what Students Supporting Students means to her.

Choose a giving level

Your donation of $1 will send the message that you are an active participant in our community and actively working toward our common goals.

Rutgers School of Social Work has over 14,000 alumni. If every alum donated $10 we would have raised $140,000 in scholarship funds, or 70 Students Supporting Students scholarships!

Your donation of $20.18 continues the tradition of the original Students Supporting Students campaign, which began as a senior gift campaign through the Class of 2012.

Your donation of $50 will help students cover expenses like a tank of gas as they get from class to their field placements.

Your donation of $100 helps to offset the cost of textbooks for a semester of MSW coursework.

Your donation of $250 covers the cost for a student to take their social work licensing exam.

Partner for Change

Your donation of $2000 will fund a full Students Supporting Students scholarship for one of our deserving MSW students.
