RU Club Gymnastics Fundraising for Nationals
In the spring of 2010 Rutgers University Club Gymnastics (RUCG) was founded by a team of less than 15 determined gymnasts, coached by Rutgers graduate Jamie Gumann. In the spring of 2011, the new organization attended their first NAIGC Nationals—NAIGC being the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs. You can see the photo of 7 girls in red leotards with coach Jamie crouching in front. This was the start of a legacy!
Fast forward to Fall 2019 -- our club has grown to 60 members. We are made up of students both continuing the journey of their gymnastics career and newcomers to the activity looking to find a passion in this ever-exciting sport. We are coached by one member of the 2010 founding team, Caity Britcher, RUCG’s founding coach, Jamie Gumann, and recent graduate Rachel Ehrenberg. Something we are especially excited about is that this year we have been granted permission to practice in a brand new gymnastics facility. We are proud of this, as it is thanks to our upstanding and respectful reputation, our hard work, and our fundraising dedication over the years. Our team is diverse in personality, interests, and backgrounds, but we all share a love for gymnastics and a mission to be better and stronger each day. We work as one cohesive team helping each other obtain our own different and personal goals, while setting several team goals to achieve together.
In order to practice in this outstanding facility, have coaches present for both our safety and progress, enter athletes in meets, travel to competitions, and more, we are constantly trying to fundraise so that we are able to offer these special perks to as many members as possible. Your support is key in helping our organization function and achieve the goals we have set.
We would be so grateful for any contributions that you can make towards helping us continue on the legacy of Rutgers University Club Gymnastics! Please accept our deepest thanks.
