Giving Tuesday - A Global Movement

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

At Rutgers–Camden, you can fill a plate and feed a mind for Giving Tuesday in support of the Raptor Pantry!

Student Hunger in the US

Studies indicate that students across a broad spectrum of higher education institutions worry about finding their next meal, and the pandemic has only worsened the problem of food insecurity. In 2019, before the pandemic began, the Raptor Pantry gave out more than 35,000 pounds of food, totaling more than 42,000 individual meals for students in need of a helping hand. And on average, the pantry had more than 150 students visits per week. As the fall semester and return to campus get into the swing of things, the Raptor Pantry is seeing an increase in visits.

Hunger can threaten the ability for students to succeed. Throughout the month, your support can make a difference in the lives of students facing food insecurity at Rutgers–Camden. Your gifts will support the Raptor Pantry, the on-campus food pantry, which provides access to groceries and toiletries for students in need of a helping hand.
